The remodel of Guy's Hospital, a teaching hospital in the Southwark area of London, has been halted for the moment by the discovery of timbers from a Roman boat. The hospital is built on the site of a Roman port where food and wine were delivered in ancient times. The type of boat is not yet known, but a shallow-bottomed merchant barge was discovered nearby in 1958.H/T South London Press, London History Hunters Pin It
